Agromedicine – The Faculty of Medicine, University of Jember (FK UNEJ), received a study visit on the management of facilities and clinical skills laboratories from the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. This activity served as a platform for sharing experiences and best practices in managing medical education facilities to support the improvement of academic quality and educational services.
The welcoming session took place in the FK UNEJ Accreditation Room and was received directly by the Dean of FK UNEJ, Dr. dr. Ulfa Elfiah, M.Kes., Sp.BP-RE., Subsp. L.B.L.(K). The event was also attended by the FK UNEJ leadership, including the vice deans, heads of study programs, the Quality Assurance Group (GPM), and the team from the Medical Education Unit (MEU) concentration.
In her welcoming remarks, the Dean of FK UNEJ expressed her appreciation for the study visit conducted by the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. She emphasized that collaboration and information exchange among faculties of medicine are essential to strengthening the management systems of facilities and clinical skills laboratories that are aligned with quality standards and students’ learning needs.
The delegation from the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, was led directly by its Dean, Dr. dr. Achmad Zaki, M.Epid., Sp.OT., FICS. On this occasion, the FK UIN team conveyed the objectives of the visit, namely to directly learn about facility governance, laboratory management systems, and the supporting infrastructure for clinical learning that have been implemented at FK UNEJ.
Following the welcoming session and a brief presentation, the activity continued with an office tour led directly by dr. Cholis Abrori, Head of the Medical Education Unit (MEU) Concentration at FK UNEJ. The delegation was invited to observe various educational support facilities, particularly the clinical skills laboratories, to directly see the implementation of space management, equipment utilization, and competency-based learning workflows.
During the office tour session, FK UNEJ presented its clinical skills laboratory management system that is integrated with the curriculum, ranging from planning the use of facilities and equipment maintenance to mechanisms for evaluating the quality of learning. This aspect attracted special attention from the FK UIN delegation as a reference for developing similar facilities at their institution.
The activity then continued with an interactive discussion session that addressed various aspects of managing facilities and clinical skills laboratories. The discussion was lively, featuring an exchange of experiences, challenges, and effective as well as sustainable management strategies implemented at each faculty.
Through this study visit, it is expected that closer cooperation will be established between FK UNEJ and the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, particularly in the development of medical education. This activity is also expected to make a positive contribution to improving the quality of facility management and clinical skills laboratories at both institutions.
