HISTOLOGY & PATOLOGY ANATOMY

Profile

The histology laboratory is a facility or place where studies and research are conducted on the structure, composition, and function of biological tissues, such as human or animal tissues, using specialized techniques. The purpose of a histology laboratory is to understand the microanatomy and microstructure of tissues, cells, and organelles under the microscope, thereby enabling in-depth observation and analysis of various biological aspects, including development, function, pathology, and disease.

The anatomical pathology laboratory is a facility or workspace where examinations and research are carried out on biological tissues derived from the human or animal body, with the primary aim of understanding and diagnosing diseases, disorders, or medical conditions. Activities in an anatomical pathology laboratory involve the sectioning of tissues obtained from patients during surgical procedures, autopsies, or biopsies. These tissues are then processed, prepared, stained, and evaluated using light microscopy or other techniques.
