Agromedicine – The Faculty of Medicine, University of Jember (FK UNEJ), once again demonstrated its commitment to improving educational quality by conducting the second mentoring session as part of its preparation for international accreditation, along with a discussion on the outcomes of the nurturing process with the Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (IAAHEH). The one-day activity involved the entire task force team across all accreditation criteria.
The mentoring activities began with a visit to the teaching hospital from 09:00 to 12:00 WIB. During the visit, the accreditation mentor, dr. Eko Arisetijono Marhaendra Putro, Sp.N(K)., conducted observations and discussions with representatives of the teaching hospital regarding compliance with international accreditation standards. Key aspects reviewed included educational governance, patient safety, service quality, and the role of the hospital as a clinical training site for students and professional trainees.
Following the hospital visit, the mentoring activities continued at 13:00 WIB with a discussion session on the nurturing outcomes with IAAHEH. The discussion took place in the FK UNEJ Accreditation Room and was attended by all task force teams representing each accreditation criterion. Each team presented their progress, challenges, and follow-up action plans based on the previous nurturing results with IAAHEH.
During the discussion session, dr. Eko Arisetijono Marhaendra Putro, Sp.N(K). emphasized the importance of consistency between documentation, on-site implementation, and the development of a sustainable quality culture. He also provided technical guidance on strengthening evidence and conducting gap analysis for each accreditation criterion.
The FK UNEJ task force teams actively raised questions and sought clarification on various findings and recommendations. The discussion was conducted in an interactive and constructive manner, focusing on improving documentation and enhancing institutional readiness for the international accreditation process.
This second mentoring session represents a crucial component of FK UNEJ’s ongoing preparation toward achieving international accreditation. Through continuous mentoring, FK UNEJ strives to ensure that all established standards are fulfilled optimally.
FK UNEJ expects that the outcomes of this activity will serve as a foundation for strengthening strategies and accelerating the fulfillment of all accreditation criteria. Synergy among the faculty, teaching hospitals, and the entire task force team is considered a key factor in achieving high-quality international accreditation.
Through the successful implementation of this mentoring activity, FK UNEJ reaffirms its commitment to continuously enhancing the quality of medical education, institutional governance, and global competitiveness, in line with the university’s vision toward international recognition.
