Agromedicine – Faculty of Medicine, University of Jember has recently hosted a blood donation activity organized by UKM TBM Vertex in collaboration with the PMI Jember Regency branch. This activity was held at the Student Center Building of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jember, and managed to get high enthusiasm from students, lecturers, and education staff.
This blood donation event was held as part of an effort to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation. In her speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Jember University, dr. Ulfa Elfiah, M.Kes., Sp.BP-RE., Subs. L.B.L. (K), said that this activity is a real effort to help people who need blood. In addition, he also mentioned that blood donation is a very important social activity and can save the lives of others.
A total of 75 people participated in this blood donation activity. The blood donation participants went through a series of health tests conducted by a medical team from the PMI Jember Regency branch to ensure their eligibility to donate blood. After going through the test process, they then donate their blood.
This blood donation activity is expected to be an example for faculties at other universities in Indonesia to carry out similar activities. Thus, public awareness about the importance of blood donation can increase and more people dare to do it.
