Agromedicine – The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Jember (FK UNEJ), has once again achieved a significant milestone by inaugurating 56 new doctors through a doctor’s oath-taking ceremony. The event was held on Tuesday, January 21, 2026, at the Universitas Jember Auditorium, and proceeded in a solemn and dignified manner.

A total of 56 newly graduated doctors officially recited the doctor’s oath, witnessed directly by the leadership of Universitas Jember, the leadership of FK UNEJ, invited guests, and family members in attendance. The inauguration ceremony was led directly by the Dean of FK UNEJ, formally marking the graduates’ transition into the medical profession with its accompanying responsibilities.

The inauguration and oath-taking ceremony marked a historic moment for the graduates, who have completed their medical education with dedication and perseverance. The event was conducted in an orderly and meaningful atmosphere, reflecting the readiness of the new doctors to serve in the field of healthcare.

Through this inauguration, FK UNEJ reaffirmed its role as a medical education institution that consistently produces high-quality human resources. To date, FK UNEJ has graduated more than 1,500 doctors, who are now serving communities across various regions of Indonesia.

In her address, Dr. dr. Ulfa Elfiah, Dean of FK UNEJ, emphasized that the oath-taking and inauguration of doctors do not signify the end of the educational journey, but rather the beginning of a great responsibility in practicing the medical profession. She stressed that being a doctor requires a strong commitment to humanitarian values and service to society.

Furthermore, the Dean expressed her hope that the graduates would continuously uphold professional integrity, adhere to medical ethics, and keep improving their competencies through lifelong learning. According to her, the increasingly complex challenges in the healthcare sector demand that doctors remain adaptive and professional.

Also present at the event was the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems of Universitas Jember, Prof. Drs. Bambang Kuswandi, M.Sc., Ph.D. In his remarks, he highlighted the importance of continuous learning as a fundamental pillar in medical practice.

Prof. Bambang Kuswandi also reminded the new doctors to consistently uphold professional ethics, justice, and humanitarian values in delivering healthcare services. He emphasized that medical competence must go hand in hand with empathy and social responsibility.

This inauguration ceremony was not only a source of pride for the graduates, but also for FK UNEJ and Universitas Jember as educational institutions. The event reflected a shared commitment to producing doctors who are not only academically excellent, but also possess strong character and integrity.

Through the inauguration of these 56 new doctors, FK UNEJ hopes that its graduates will make a tangible contribution to the nation, help improve public health standards, and serve as ambassadors of their alma mater, bringing honor to Universitas Jember at both national and international levels.
