Agromedicine – The Faculty of Medicine, University of Jember (FK UNEJ), held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with San Pedro College on April 16, 2026. The activity took place in the international meeting room of the OSCE Building at FK UNEJ as part of efforts to strengthen international collaboration in education, research, and community service.

The FGD served as a discussion platform between FK UNEJ and San Pedro College to explore various opportunities for academic collaboration. The discussion was conducted in a warm and interactive atmosphere, reflecting the shared commitment to strengthening relationships between healthcare education institutions at the international level.

The activity was attended by the leadership of FK UNEJ, the Coordinator of the Medical Education Unit (MEU), representatives from the Agromedicine concentration, and coordinators of study programs within FK UNEJ. The presence of faculty leaders and academic representatives demonstrated FK UNEJ’s commitment to expanding its global academic network.

During the discussion, both institutions explored several strategic programs that could be developed collaboratively. The main topics included lecturer collaboration, joint research, community service programs, and student exchange opportunities between the two institutions.

Lecturer collaboration became one of the key discussion points aimed at supporting the improvement of educational quality and academic capacity development. In addition, collaborative research initiatives are expected to produce innovations and scientific publications that contribute to the advancement of health sciences.

In the field of community service, both institutions also discussed opportunities to implement collaborative community-based health programs. These programs are expected to provide meaningful impacts on society while also offering international experience opportunities for both students and lecturers.

Meanwhile, the student exchange program received particular attention during the FGD. Through this program, students are expected to gain cross-cultural learning experiences and broaden their academic perspectives within an international environment.

This FGD was part of the series of visits by San Pedro College to FK UNEJ, which began on April 15, 2026. Through this activity, FK UNEJ hopes that the established partnership will continue to grow and provide meaningful benefits for both institutions in supporting the advancement of medical and health education at the global level.
