Students from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Jember have once again achieved national-level recognition. Muhammad Farhan Hibatulloh, Herin Nazaha Ramadhani, and Handy Tri Setianto, who are students at the university, secured the 1st place in the 2023 National Scientific Literature Review Somatic competition held at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Jendral Soedirman.
According to Herin, one of the team members, this accomplishment marks our second successful project, and it allowed our team to clinch the 1st place. The competition’s theme was Tropical Diseases, which inspired our team to focus on tuberculosis, an infectious disease with a high prevalence in tropical countries, including Indonesia. As a result, we chose the title “Potential and Effectiveness of Aerosol Vaccine Innovation in Tuberculosis Prevention: A Systematic Review of Randomized Controlled Studies.”
The team’s motivation behind selecting this title was to seek innovative solutions that could help combat tuberculosis in Indonesia. In our quest for novelty, we aimed to identify new, interesting, and practical innovations. One challenge we encountered was the absence of systematic reviews or meta-analyses discussing this topic. Nevertheless, we persevered, conducting research until we uncovered several studies addressing the subject.
The competition took place from June 2023 to September 2023, during which Herin and the team surpassed many participants from various universities. The selection process began with registration and submission of works from June 1 to June 30, 2023, concluding with the final offline round on September 8-10, 2023.
