Agromedicine – The 8th Annual National Scientific Meeting of Agromedicine (PINTAR), organized by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jember (FK UNEJ), successfully attracted public attention. Held at the FK UNEJ Auditorium, the event featured one of its distinguished alumni, dr. Taufiq Gemawan, M.Ked.Klin., Sp.An., as a keynote speaker, presenting a topic titled “Clinical Applications of Emergency Drugs in Primary Care.”

dr. Taufiq Gemawan, who currently practices at RSD dr. Soebandi Jember, is an FK UNEJ graduate specializing in anesthesiology. In his presentation, he emphasized the importance of knowledge and skills in the use of emergency medications, particularly in critical situations within primary healthcare settings. The session was met with great enthusiasm from participants, including students, practitioners, and academics from various regions across Indonesia.

During the seminar, dr. Taufiq highlighted the critical role of proper and effective use of emergency drugs in saving patients’ lives during urgent conditions. He explained various types of medications that primary care providers must be familiar with, including those used to manage cardiac arrest, seizures, and anaphylactic shock. “Timely and accurate drug selection and administration are crucial in emergency situations,” he stressed.

Beyond technical aspects, dr. Taufiq also shared real-world experiences regarding challenges commonly faced by healthcare professionals in primary care facilities, especially in handling emergency cases. He presented several case examples and demonstrated how quick and precise decision-making plays a vital role in successful treatment outcomes.
