Agromedicine – In commemoration of the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jember (FK UNEJ) आयोजित a special guest lecture themed “Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery.” The event was held on August 17, 2024, at 09:00 WIB in the FK UNEJ Auditorium and was attended by lecturers and students from both undergraduate and professional study programs.

The event began with welcoming remarks from the Dean of FK UNEJ, Dr. dr. Ulfa Elfiah, who expressed her gratitude and pride in the successful आयोजन of the event. She emphasized that the activity not only served as part of the Independence Day celebration but also as a platform to enhance participants’ knowledge and insights, particularly in the field of cardiovascular thoracic surgery.

Following the opening remarks, the session continued with presentations delivered by renowned experts in cardiovascular thoracic surgery. One of the speakers, Prof. Dr. med. Puruhito, dr., Sp.B, Sp.BTKV, Subsp.VE (K), FICS, FIATCVS, presented a topic titled “Introduction to Vascular Surgery.” In his session, he explained the fundamental principles of vascular surgery and highlighted its importance in managing various diseases related to the vascular system.

The next speaker, Dr. dr. Heroe Soebroto, Sp.B-Sp.BTKV., Subsp.JPK(K), delivered an engaging presentation on “Fundamentals of Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Surgery.” He emphasized the importance of in-depth understanding in cardiac surgery, particularly in managing congenital heart conditions in children. His presentation drew significant attention due to the complexity and challenges involved in treating such cases.

The third presentation was delivered by dr. Arief Rakhman Hakim, Sp.BTKV(K), who discussed “Thoracic Surgery.” He elaborated on various techniques and procedures used in thoracic surgery, as well as recent advancements that contribute to improved patient outcomes.

The guest lecture was met with great enthusiasm from participants. Lecturers and students had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge directly from experts in the field. The event also fostered interactive discussions, allowing participants to ask questions and engage with the speakers on clinical cases encountered in both practice and learning.

In her closing remarks, the Dean of FK UNEJ expressed hope that similar activities would continue to be held regularly. “We hope this event not only provides new knowledge but also inspires participants to keep learning and developing, especially in critical specialized fields such as cardiovascular thoracic surgery,” she stated.
