Agromedicine – The Faculty of Medicine, University of Jember (FK UNEJ), in collaboration with PT Mitratani Dua Tujuh, organized a social service program in the form of Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) screening for agroindustry workers on April 18, 2026. The activity was held in the hall of PT Mitratani Dua Tujuh as a form of concern for workers’ health, especially for those who are frequently exposed to noise from industrial machinery.
The program targeted workers who regularly come into contact with loud sounds from production equipment and machines. Long-term exposure to noise is known to have negative effects on hearing health if regular examinations and early detection measures are not carried out.
This social service activity represented a collaborative effort between a medical education institution and the industrial sector to support occupational health and safety. Through its agromedicine program, FK UNEJ continues to promote preventive and promotive healthcare efforts for workers, particularly those in the agroindustry sector.
The event began with opening remarks delivered by representatives of FK UNEJ and PT Mitratani Dua Tujuh. In their speeches, both parties emphasized the importance of maintaining workers’ health as part of efforts to create a safe and productive work environment.
Representatives from PT Mitratani Dua Tujuh also expressed their appreciation for the implementation of the program, considering it highly beneficial for the workers. Through this activity, the company hopes employees will better understand the importance of regular health check-ups, particularly related to hearing health.
Following the opening session, the activity continued with a brief educational session on ENT health and the effects of noise exposure on workers’ health. The session aimed to increase workers’ awareness of the risks of hearing disorders caused by prolonged exposure to loud noise in the workplace.
Participants then underwent vital signs examinations as an initial step to assess their general health conditions. The examinations were conducted systematically by the FK UNEJ medical team involved in the social service program.
In addition to vital signs assessments, participants also received anthropometric examinations, including measurements of height, weight, and other health indicators. These examinations aimed to support a comprehensive evaluation of the workers’ health conditions.

The main activity, the ENT examination, was conducted directly by ENT specialists from FK UNEJ. During the screening, the doctors evaluated the condition of the workers’ ears, nose, and throat to detect potential health problems related to their work environment in the agroindustry sector.
Through this social service program, FK UNEJ and PT Mitratani Dua Tujuh hope to increase workers’ awareness of the importance of occupational health and early detection of health disorders caused by workplace exposure. The activity also reflected a strong synergy between the education and industrial sectors in supporting the improvement of workers’ health quality in Jember Regency.
