Agromedicine – The Faculty of Medicine, University of Jember (FK UNEJ) once again successfully organized the 8th National Annual Scientific Meeting of Agromedicine (PINTAR) under the theme “The Application of Pharmacology Concepts for Daily Therapy Effectivity.” Held at the FK UNEJ Auditorium on October 26, 2024, the event attracted enthusiastic participants from various regions across Indonesia, including attendees from Makassar. Conducted in a hybrid format, PINTAR 8 combined both seminar and workshop sessions, providing a comprehensive learning experience for all participants.
The event began with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem Indonesia Raya, followed by the Hymn of the University of Jember and the Agromedicine March. The opening ceremony was further enlivened by a distinctive Agromedicine dance performance, representing the identity of the Faculty of Medicine UNEJ. Dr. dr. Cicih Komariah, as the Chair of the Committee, delivered a report on the preparation and objectives of the event, followed by remarks from the Dean of FK UNEJ, Dr. dr. Ulfa Elfiah. The event was officially opened by the Rector of the University of Jember, Dr. Ir. Iwan Taruna.
PINTAR 8 featured six distinguished national speakers who are experts in their respective fields. The first speaker, dr. Pipiet Wulandari, Sp.JP., FIHA., a lecturer from the University of Jember, discussed the importance of applying pharmacological concepts in daily therapy to improve effectiveness. The second speaker, dr. Yanri Wijayanti Subronto, Ph.D., Sp.PD-KPTI., FINASIM. from Universitas Gadjah Mada, shared insights on infection management using the latest pharmacological approaches.
Next, dr. Taufiq Gemawan, M.Ked.Klin., Sp.An., an FK UNEJ alumnus currently serving at RSD dr. Soebandi Jember, presented perspectives on anesthesiology in routine therapy. His presence as an alumnus inspired participants to continue developing their knowledge in agromedicine. Dr. Abdul Khairul Rizki Purba, M.Sc., Sp.FK., Ph.D., from Universitas Airlangga, delivered an in-depth session on clinical pharmacology, offering new insights into its role in enhancing treatment effectiveness.
In the following sessions, Dr. dr. Yudianto Busi Saroyo, Sp.OG(K)., MPH. from Universitas Indonesia discussed the application of pharmacology in reproductive health, highlighting its importance in obstetric therapy. The final speaker, Dr. dr. Dyah Kanya Wati, Sp.A.(K) from Universitas Udayana, presented relevant material on pharmacology in pediatric healthcare. The topics delivered by the speakers provided practical and applicable insights for participants.
In addition to the seminar sessions, the event also featured workshops aimed at enhancing participants’ practical skills in applying pharmacological concepts within their respective fields. The workshops were highly appreciated, as they allowed participants to directly practice the theories learned during the seminar sessions.
Beyond gaining knowledge and skills, participants also had the opportunity to build professional networks across disciplines. A warm and engaging atmosphere was evident throughout the event, with participants from diverse backgrounds, including students, practitioners, and academics in medicine and health sciences. This demonstrated that PINTAR 8 successfully served as an effective platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration.
At the end of the event, participants expressed high appreciation to FK UNEJ for successfully organizing PINTAR 8. That similar events will continue to be held annually, featuring more speakers and relevant topics. This event further strengthens FK UNEJ’s position as one of the leading centers for the development of medical science in the field of agromedicine in Indonesia.
